It Took 2 Months to Prepare for This Year’s Conference—And It Was Worth Every Spreadsheet

Let’s be honest—prepping for a major conference isn’t exactly like throwing together a backyard BBQ. It’s more like assembling IKEA furniture without the manual… and then realizing halfway through that you ordered two of the same bookshelf. Twice.

That’s why, when we say it took two full months to get everything ready for this year’s AICPA conference, we’re not exaggerating. We planned, we organized, we colour-coded—and yes, we may have even cried a little (quietly, in Excel).

From coordinating speaker schedules, prepping digital handouts, testing our tech stack, and making sure every last PDF ended up in the right folder (and not in someone’s Downloads abyss), the behind-the-scenes effort was nothing short of Olympic.

We triple-checked that attendees will have access to the right slides, handouts, and key materials before each session—even the ones that changed titles three times. Our team worked around the clock, and sometimes around the chaos, to make sure this conference is the smoothest one yet.

There was even a minor coffee spill incident involving an air horn, a deadline, and a very jittery intern—but that’s a story for another time.

And yes, at one point, things got so hectic someone said, “That’s why emergency plumbing services exist”—and honestly, we don’t even know what that meant, but it felt emotionally accurate.
